Saintlo Ottawa Jail Hostel

The hostel provided a unique and memorable experience, reminiscent of staying in a real jail. the cells were authentic and added to the overall theme of the place. the location was excellent, with the Rideau Mall and Byward Market conveniently nearby, offering plenty of shopping and dining options. the beds were surprisingly comfortable and provided a good night's sleep.

There were some management issues that affected the overall experience. There were communication problems, with the front desk staff being uninformed about important details, such as the closure of washrooms on certain floors for renovations.

The location of the hotel was great - it was conveniently located near popular tourist spots and attractions. We were able to easily walk to the market and parliament hill. the architecture of the building was also impressive - the old jail cell bars added to the unique experience of staying there. the breakfast provided was pretty good most days, which was a nice way to start our day of exploring.

The noise level in the hotel was unbearable. We could hear everything from the outside courtyard to people using the bathrooms outside our room.

The location of the hostel is ideal, being close to popular attractions such as Parliament Hill and a variety of restaurants and shops. the staff has been praised for their kindness and helpfulness, making guests feel welcome. the breakfast provided is delicious and included in the stay.

Some guests have complained about the noise levels within the hostel, particularly on the first day. Earplugs were necessary for a peaceful night's sleep.

I recently stayed at the Saintlo Ottawa Jail and I must say, it was an amazing experience! The fact that it used to be a jail, hostel, and museum all in one made it a must-visit place in Ottawa. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the continental breakfast was decent, and the rooms were surprisingly comfortable. The free daily tour added a lot of knowledge and was a great way to explore the history of the place. The Wi-fi coverage was excellent and the option to leave my luggage before check-in and after check-out was a bonus. Highly recommended!

The noise from neighboring cells was quite loud, especially when people were snoring. The reverberation in the concave, cellar-style ceiling made the noise travel even more.
